The “1st Turkish Military History Congress,” organized by the Turkish Historical Society and the National Defense University Fatih Institute of War History Research, will take place on May 29-30, 2024, under the theme “Fortified Positions and Siege Battles.”
This congress will examine the evolving nature of siege battles in relation to advancements in military strategy and technology, including military organization, doctrine, equipment, and the role of castles and other fortified positions within both Turkish and global military history. The event will be hosted on the National Defense University campus.
