
Doç. Dr. Yunus PUSTU
Born in 1984 in Maçka district of Trabzon, Yunus PUSTU completed his primary and secondary education in Trabzon. He graduated from Atatürk University, Department of History in 2007. In 2014, he completed his master’s degree at Karadeniz Technical University, Institute of Social Sciences with his thesis titled “Muallim Associations in Turkey (1908-1928)”; and in 2020, he completed his doctorate at Hacettepe University, Institute of Social Sciences with his thesis titled “Migration and Settlement in Ankara from the 19th Century to the 20th Century (1856-1918)”. In March 2024, he received the title of associate professor in the department of Atatürk’s Principles and Republican History. Yunus PUSTU, who started as an Assistant Specialist at the Turkish Historical Society in 2013, became a Supreme Council Specialist in 2017. Between 2021-2023, he served as the Scientific Meeting and Event Coordinator; He served as the Director of Scientific Studies between 2023 and 2024. He was appointed Vice President of the Turkish Historical Society in March 2024.
PUSTU, whose fields of study include migration, community formation and the Organization of Teachers, has two published books and numerous articles on these subjects.
