Two significant agreements concerning the writing of recent Turkish Cypriot history were concluded. A cooperation protocol was signed between the Turkish Historical Society, the Bayrak Radio Television Corporation, and Başkent University for the documentation and recording of the memoirs of individuals who have held political and administrative positions in Cyprus. In addition, a cooperation protocol was established between the Turkish Historical Society and the retired diplomat Mr. Osman Ertuğ, through which Mr. Ertuğ’s personal digital archive was made accessible to researchers.
On this occasion, the President of the Turkish Historical Society, Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen, who was in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), paid official visits to the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Lefkoşa, Mr. Ali Murat Başçeri, and the Speaker of the TRNC Parliament Mr. Ziya Öztürkler.
