Panel on Greek Atrocities in Western Anatolia from Occupation to Liberation was Organized

Our Institution, in cooperation with the İzmir Governorate and Dokuz Eylül University, organized the panel entitled “Greek Atrocities in Western Anatolia from Occupation to Liberation.” The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen, President of the Turkish Historical Society; H.E. Burak Özügergin, Director General for the Northeast Mediterranean at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Dokuz Eylül University Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Dilşen İnce Erdoğan and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Birhan Yılmaz; as well as numerous academics, students, and guests. In their presentations, Prof. Dr. Dilşen İnce Erdoğan, Prof. Dr. Haluk Selvi, and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Elmacı examined İzmir’s period of occupation and the subsequent process of liberation from occupation.
