Conferences entitled “The Culture of Coexistence from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic” was held in Switzerland

As part of the “Culture of Coexistence from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic Conferences” organized by our Society for the Turkish diaspora, conferences were conducted in the Swiss cities of Geneva and Zurich.

The first event, hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Geneva, was held on May 10, 2025, with the participation of Mr. Hakan Çakıl, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the World Trade Organization. The program commenced with opening remarks delivered by Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen, President of the Turkish Historical Society, and Mrs. İpek Zeytinoğlu Özkan, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Geneva. This was followed by a lecture presented by Prof. Dr. Haluk Selvi, a member of the Scientific Board of the Turkish Historical Society, and Melek Dilşen Seymenoğlu, Head of Department at the Directorate General of Public Diplomacy and Strategic Communications, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye. A subsequent meeting took place in Zurich on the following day, hosted by the Headquarters of the Turkish Community in Switzerland. The event began with welcoming addresses by Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen and Mr. Fazlı Çorman, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Zurich. The program continued with a lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Haluk Selvi and Melek Dilşen Seymenoğlu.
