As part of the “Culture of Coexistence from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic Conferences” organized by our Society for the Turkish diaspora, conferences were conducted in Strasbourg and Paris, France.
The first meeting held in Strasbourg on January 18, 2025 began with the opening speeches of the President of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History HE Prof. Dr. Derya Örs, the President of the Turkish Historical Society Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen and the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Strasbourg Mr. Bekir Sarp Erzi. The event continued with the lecture of the Scientific Board Member of the Turkish Historical Society Prof. Dr. Haluk Selvi and ended with the answers to the questions posed by the audience.
The second conference, held on Sunday, January 19, was hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Paris. The event commenced with opening addresses by HE Yunus Demirer, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Paris; HE Prof. Dr. Derya Örs, President of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language, and History; Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen, President of the Turkish Historical Society; and Mr. Kerem Yılmaz, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Paris. Following the speeches, Prof. Dr. Haluk Selvi delivered a lecture and subsequently responded to questions from the audience.
On the occasion of the event, the delegation, led by HE Prof. Dr. Derya Örs, President of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language, and History, and Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen, President of the Turkish Historical Society, visited HE Yunus Demirer, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Paris; Mr. Kerem Yılmaz, Consul General in Paris; and Mr. Bekir Sarp Erzi, Consul General in Strasbourg, at their respective offices.
