The event will be open to public participation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Prof. Dr. Cemal KAFADAR<\/strong><br \/>\nProf. Dr. Cemal Kafadar was born in Istanbul in 1954. He completed his secondary education at Istanbul Boys High School and Robert College, and his undergraduate education at Hamilton College in the USA. He completed his MA and PhD in Ottoman history at the Institute of Islamic Studies at McGill University in Canada. Prof. Kafadar, who served as a faculty member at the Department of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University between 1985-89, has been working at Harvard University since 1990.<br \/>\nKafadar, who works on the social and cultural history of the Middle East and Southeastern Europe in the late Middle Ages and early modern period, teaches courses on Ottoman history, urban space, travel, popular culture, history and cinema. In addition to his works such as, \u0130ki Cihan \u00c2resinde, Osmanl\u0131 Devleti\u2019nin Kurulu\u015fu; Kim Var \u0130mi\u015f Biz Burada Yo\u011f \u0130ken; D\u00f6rt Osmanl\u0131: Yeni\u00e7eri, T\u00fcccar, Dervi\u015f ve Hatun ve Kendine Ait Bir Roma: Diyar-\u0131 Rum\u2019da K\u00fclt\u00fcrel Co\u011frafya ve Kimlik, he has also undertaken the curation of various historical and documentary films.
