Prof. Dr. Abdeljelil Temimi holds degrees from the French National Archives, as well as from the Universities of Washington and Pittsburgh. He earned his doctorate from the University of Aix-en-Provence. Dr. Temimi served as a Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Tunis, from which he has since retired. He is the founder and chairman of several committees and has made significant contributions to the academic community through numerous publications.<\/p><\/div>

Prof. Dr. Abdulkadir \u00d6zcan, who graduated from the Department of Arabic-Persian Philology and History of the Faculty of Letters of Istanbul University in 1972, was appointed as an assistant to the Department of History of Ottoman Institutions and Civilization in 1977 and completed his doctorate three years later. Dr. \u00d6zcan later held positions at the Atat\u00fcrk Faculty of Education at Marmara University and in the Department of History at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, from which he has since retired. He currently serves as a faculty member at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vak\u0131f University.<\/p><\/div>

Prof. Dr. Abd\u00fclkerim \u00d6zayd\u0131n completed his undergraduate studies in the History Department of the Faculty of Letters at Istanbul University during the 1978-79 academic year. Following a brief tenure as a secondary education teacher, he was appointed as a research assistant in the Department of Medieval History at Istanbul University\u2019s Faculty of Letters in 1981. He received his doctoral degree in 1983 for his dissertation titled “Sultan Muhammed Tapar Era Seljuk History.” Dr. \u00d6zayd\u0131n assumed the title of Assistant Professor in 1987 and was promoted to Associate Professor on October 3, 1988. He attained the title of Professor on May 25, 1995, and has been serving as the Head of the Department of Medieval History since 2005.<\/p><\/div>

He obtained his undergraduate degree from the Department of Oriental Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo. He subsequently completed his Master\u2019s degree in National History at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade. He earned his PhD in History from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo. Following this, he served as a professor of Arabic and Turkish languages at the Gazi Husrev Bey Madrasa for five years. He later advanced his career as a researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies in Sarajevo, from which he ultimately retired as a scientific advisor.<\/p><\/div>

Prof. Dr. Ahmet A\u011f\u0131rak\u00e7a graduated from the Istanbul Higher Islamic Institute and the History Department of Istanbul University. He then served as a research assistant in the Department of Medieval History within the Faculty of Letters at Istanbul University, where he later received his doctoral degree based on a thesis prepared in the same department. He was appointed Assistant Professor in 1987, promoted to Associate Professor in 1988, and attained the title of Professor in June 1996. He retired from the History Department of the Faculty of Letters at Istanbul University in 1999. Subsequently, Prof. Dr. A\u011f\u0131rak\u00e7a held various administrative positions and returned to the Department of Medieval History a decade later. In February 2013, he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Theological Sciences at Mardin Artuklu University. He still holds this position.<\/p><\/div>

Prof. Dr. Ahmet \u015eair \u015eerif graduated from the Department of Islamic Culture and Civilization at Al-Azhar University, as well as from the Department of History at Saint Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. He earned his doctorate in history from the Department of History at Saint Cyril and Methodius University. In 2000, he joined the faculty of the Macedonian National Institute of History at Saint Cyril and Methodius University. He received the title of Professor in 2006. He currently works at the same university.<\/p><\/div>

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ya\u015far Ocak graduated from the Department of Ottoman Civilization and Institutions within the Faculty of Letters at Istanbul University in 1971. He obtained his PhD from the University of Strasbourg in 1978. He was appointed as an Associate Professor at Hacettepe University in 1983 and subsequently promoted to Professor at the same institution in 1988, from which he retired in 2013. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Ocak was a full member of the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Asiatique in Paris from 1980 to 1990 and a member of the Turkish Historical Society from 1983 to 2002.<\/p><\/div>

Prof. Dr. Ali Birinci graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Economics and Finance at Ankara University. He held positions at the General Directorate of Security and within the History Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Cumhuriyet University. He completed his doctoral degree in 1986 and commenced his tenure at the Police Academy in 1988. He became Associate Professor in 1993 and was promoted to Professor of Contemporary History in 2000. He also conducted professional studies in Paris. From 2002 to 2004, he gave lectures at Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University. In 2008, he was appointed President of the Turkish Historical Society, a position he held until September 13, 2011.<\/p><\/div>

\n\nProf. Dr. Amnon Cohen completed his entire education in Israel, obtaining his doctorate from Hebrew University. He served as the head of the Middle East Studies Department at Hebrew University and held various public positions throughout his career. Additionally, he gave lectures as a visiting professor at Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Oxford. Prof. Dr. Cohen is the author of 25 books and approximately 70 scholarly articles covering a wide range of topics related to the Middle East.\n\n<\/div>\n

Andrew Mango graduated from the English High School for Boys in Istanbul. Then he studied at the School of Oriental Studies in London. He obtained his doctorate from this institution in 1955, with his doctoral thesis focusing on Alexander the Great. In 1947, he joined the BBC External Broadcasting Department, which is now known as the BBC World Service, and served as the Director of BBC Turkish Broadcasting for 14 years, from 1958 to 1972. Following his retirement from the BBC in 1986, he dedicated himself to full-time research, writing, and consulting on Modern Turkey.<\/p><\/div>

Prof. Dr. Bayram Kodaman graduated from the History Department of Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History, and Geography (DTCF), in 1960. He completed his doctoral studies at Aix-Marseilles University in France. In 1972, he commenced his tenure as a lecturer at Hacettepe University, where he received the titles of Associate Professor in 1976 and Professor in 1981. Prof. Dr. Kodaman served as the founding Dean of both the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at S\u00fcleyman Demirel University. He held the position of Head of the History Department at this institution from 2000 to 2010. Additionally, he was a faculty member at Manas University in Kyrgyzstan from 2010 to 2013.<\/p><\/div>

Dr. Bilal N. \u015eim\u015fir graduated from the Political Department of the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University in 1957. After working as a political history assistant at the same faculty for three years, he transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in March 1960. Throughout his career, he held various positions, including chief secretary, undersecretary, and consul general at multiple diplomatic missions abroad, as well as branch manager, department head, deputy general manager, and general manager for two terms at the central organization of the Ministry. Dr. \u015eim\u015fir represented Turkey as an ambassador in several countries. He retired in 1998 after 41 years of public service, 38 of which were spent in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p><\/div>

Graduating in 1940, \u0130nalc\u0131k was appointed as a scientific assistant to the Chair of Modern History (Yeni \u00c7a\u011f) upon the appreciation and recommendation of Fuad K\u00f6pr\u00fcl\u00fc. He earned his doctorate in 1942 and was subsequently appointed as an assistant to the Chair of Modern History (Yeni \u00c7a\u011f). In 1943, he became an Associate Professor with a thesis titled \u201cThe Ottoman Empire and the Crimean Khanate to the \u2018Great Retreat\u2019 from Vienna.\u201d He was awarded a professorship in 1952. One of the most important Ottoman historians of recent times, Heath W. Lowry was born on December 23, 1942, in Salem, Oregon. He served in Turkey as a peace volunteer between 1964 and 1966. Lowry obtained his undergraduate degree from Portland State University in 1968, followed by a master’s degree in 1970 and a doctorate from the University of California in 1977. That same year, he assumed the role of director at the American Scientific Research Center in Istanbul and also taught in the History Department at Bo\u011fazi\u00e7i University until late 1979. Between 1979 and 1982, he headed a team of international researchers focused on historical demography of the late Byzantine and early Ottoman eras at the Dumberton Oaks Center of Harvard University. In the 1990s, he worked at the Center for Ottoman and Modern Turkish Studies at Princeton University, and between 1994 and 1997, he also served as the head of the Department of Near Eastern Studies. Lowry has dedicated many years to the study of census records at the Ottoman Archives. He currently works as the general coordinator of Bah\u00e7e\u015fehir University Ottoman and Turkish History Application and Research Center.<\/p><\/div>

Consequently, he assumed the position of Head of the History Department within the professorial cadre. In 2005, he assumed the directorship of the Marmara University Institute of Turkology Studies. His main research area is the history of the Ottoman Empire between the 14th<\/sup> and 17th<\/sup> centuries.
